Intensive In-Home

In-Home Therapeutic Services

Intensive In-Home Therapy for Kids

Support, Inc. offers a full range of services for children and adolescents.  Our Intensive In-Home program implements a structured evidence based practice to make the greatest impact on the families we serve.

Intensive in-home services are designed for children and families experiencing significant mental health challenges or behavioral issues that are affecting their home life and community relationships.

These services involve a team of three to four mental health professionals working closely with the family in their home environment. The goal is to provide support, therapy, and crisis management to help the child and family develop coping skills, improve communication, and prevent out-of-home placements.

Who might benefit from intensive in-home services?

  • Children and adolescents struggling with severe emotional or behavioral problems
  • Families facing crises related to mental health, substance abuse, or domestic violence
  • Individuals at risk of out-of-home placement due to challenging behaviors
  • Families in need of support to transition back home from a higher level of care

Key features of intensive in-home services often include:

  • Individual therapy: One-on-one sessions with a mental health professional
  • Family therapy: Sessions involving the entire family to address communication and relationship issues
  • Crisis management: Immediate support during times of emotional distress or behavioral outbursts
  • Parenting education: Guidance and training for parents on effective parenting strategies
  • Skill-building: Teaching coping mechanisms, problem-solving skills, and social skills

If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues or behavioral problems, consider exploring intensive in-home services as a potential solution.

Support Incorporated uses the ESFT Model for Intensive In-Home therapy.  Eco-Systemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) is a therapeutic approach that focuses on understanding and addressing family dynamics within their broader environment. It’s particularly effective for families experiencing behavioral or relational challenges.

Is Intensive In-Home Therapy Right for You?

Key principles of ESFT:

  • Systemic perspective: Views the family as a complex system, where each member’s behavior influences and is influenced by others.
  • Relational focus: Emphasizes the importance of relationships within the family and how they contribute to the child’s emotional well-being.
  • Ecological perspective: Recognizes the impact of the broader environment, such as school, community, and culture, on the family and the child.
  • Developmental perspective: Considers the child’s developmental stage and how it influences their behavior and understanding of the world.

ESFT aims to:

  • Improve family communication and interactions
  • Enhance parental skills and support
  • Strengthen the child’s emotional well-being
  • Prevent out-of-home placements

Through techniques like family sculpting, enactment, and reframing, ESFT helps families identify and address underlying issues, leading to positive changes in their relationships and overall functioning.
