Lakeisha McKnabb has been licensed and practicing professional counseling over the past 16 years following a military career in healthcare and patient administration. She attended graduate school at the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is passionate about supervising and mentoring newly licensed therapist within the community while attending to her family, enjoying life, and encouraging the self-determination and tolerance of all persons. She is also a NC board supervisor for Clinical Mental Health Clinicians as well as Addictions professionals. Her therapeutic and supervisory approach is parallel; both trauma informed and responsive, inspired by various evidence based practices/approaches including crisis response management, brief-solution focused therapy, neurosequential model of therapeutics, EMDR, family centered treatment and family systems models. “I can always see myself in the shoes of any individual sitting across from me, while remaining curious to their unique story”.
