Teachers and school staff are equipped to identify students who may benefit from counseling. When a potential need is recognized, the relevant school personnel will contact the student’s parent or legal guardian to discuss the concerns and introduce our treatment program. With the parent or guardian’s consent, a formal referral is made, facilitating the start of beneficial counseling services right within the school setting.
Once the referral has been made, Support, Inc. conducts a clinical assessment and, if necessary, develops a treatment plan and goals for the student. An experienced therapist meets weekly or every other week with the student. During treatment, the therapist communicates regularly with the student’s parent or guardian to explain their child’s progress.
