DEC Services

Support, Inc.’s DEC department provides one-on-one support to students in Gaston County Schools with mental health issues, behavioral issues, medical issues, and developmental disabilities. Our Student Specific Assistants work very hard to integrate themselves into various classrooms in the county, helping teachers and administrators provide necessary support to students who need additional help successfully completing the school day. Support, Inc.’s SSAs aid students in navigating their schools, offer coping skills that students can utilize to help deescalate and avoid crises, and provide an understanding, listening ear as students traverse the academic environment.

Developmental Therapy

Support, Inc.’s Developmental Disability department provides Developmental Therapy services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Developmental Therapy Technicians offer care and support for families and consumers while supporting the acquisition of individualized skills that match each consumer’s specialized needs.

CAP

Support, Inc.’s Developmental Disability department provides CAP services, including In-Home Skill Building, Respite, and Personal Care. These CAP services are provided to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In-Home Skill Building most often occurs in the community and allows the consumer to learn his or her community and those in it. Respite services offer parents or guardians of consumers a short break from their care-giving duties. Personal Care generally takes place in the home and focuses primarily on increasing personal hygiene skills. Our CAP Technicians provide attentive service to our clients to help promote growth and independence for their individual needs.

Personal Assistance

Support, Inc.’s Developmental Disability department also provides Personal Assistance services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Personal Assistance Specialists help consumers live as independently as possible by engaging the individual in activities and interactions that offer the consumer a more fulfilling, engaging life.
